Serikandi and Solarvest secure Brunei''s largest national solar PV
Malaysia-based clean energy infrastructure developer, Solarvest Holdings Berhad, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Atlantic Blue Sdn Bhd, has secured Brunei''s largest
Malaysia-headquartered clean energy infrastructure company Solarvest Holdings Berhad has announced a contract to build a 30 MW AC solar power plant in Brunei, calling it the country's largest national solar project. It will be located in a remediated landfill in Kampong Belimbing, Mukim Kota Batu, on 33.29 hectares of land.
This milestone represents Brunei Darussalam's largest government-led solar project to date and the first large-scale solar initiative under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP). It underscores the nation's commitment to diversifying its energy mix and pursuing low-carbon development as part of its decarbonisation agenda.
Upon completion by the end of 2026, the project is expected to be the largest SPVPP in Brunei Darussalam, generating an annual output of 64,473,000 kWh, with a potential to offset about 645,000 MMBtu of natural gas and 92 million tons of carbon dioxide.
This significant undertaking will be executed through a joint venture, Seri Suria Power Sdn. Bhd., formed in collaboration with local partners Serikandi Oilfield Services Sdn. Bhd. and Khazanah Satu Sdn. Bhd. The planned 30MW (megawatt) photovoltaic (PV) power plant is slated to break ground in the third quarter of 2025.
