Ukrainian energy company DTEK plans to invest €140m ($155m) to develop a range of energy storage systems with 200MW capacity to bolster the country''s energy security

(Credit: DTEK) DTEK Group, a private investor in Ukraine's energy sector, has announced a €140m investment plan to construct a series of battery energy storage systems (BESS) in the country with a combined capacity of 200MW.
Battery technology plays a crucial role in decentralising Ukraine's energy system to mitigate the impact of energy supply disruptions caused by Russia, said the energy investment company.
DTEK significantly increased its humanitarian and military support efforts. The company allocated UAH 1,8 billion for humanitarian purposes and to support the Ukrainian army. Additionally, DTEK supplied UAH 250 million worth of electricity to military facilities and hospitals free of charge.
