Resolution E-4937 approved SCE's energy storage solicitation to comply with SB 801. To date the CPUC has approved procurement of more than 1,533.52 MW of new storage capacity to be built in the State. Of this total 506 MW are operational.

These terms describe various ways states may set an intention to attain a specified level of energy storage deployment by a specific date, and the role of regulated electric utilities in helping realize that intention.
These contracts allocate the risks of project development, construction, and performance between the parties and include the price that will be paid by the utility for the resource or the energy storage services that are to be provided.
